Special Features
The IMM Building is a wide known retail shopping centre in Singapore, with more than 100 retail outlets and large parking areas. The shops are mostly household goods shops including furniture and kitchenware shops along with supermarkets and branded shops. Most people will come to the centre by car giving great branding opportunities in the car park areas and immediately allows for storage opportunity for the replaced furniture and goods. The high daily customer count in the facility ensures for great exposure and advantage must be taken of this feature.
This is the second phase of the conversion, which will be four phases in total.

Learning Experience
With a relatively straight forward portioning fit-out job, the challenge was to work with the client to allow for greatest possible branding exposure, through innovative use of signage and see-through areas.

Phase 1.

1. THE BUILDING
The leased area is adjacent to the expanded parking areas inside the building giving ‘in-your-face’ presence for most people coming by car. The space was previously dedicated for shops and smaller offices.

2. INTERNAL WORKS
The floor was cleaned (previously carpeted) painted and epoxy coated.

3. OFFICE
A temporary office was built, which will be moved when the next extension commences in 2008. The office will then be converted into a storage unit and now is finished in the corporate colour scheme and has PTI control screens, reception, meeting areas etc.

4. INTERNAL PARTITIONING
All internal walls are constructed using our patented vertical interlocking, high security SS810 “Guardian” Safe Edge panel system. The panels are roll formed using resin coated steel. The partitions are set into 1.2mm Zincalume(R) channel tracks top and bottom, with vertical channel at intersecting points. Exposed edges are protected by safety edges to all return folds and there are no vertical fixings, pop rivets or studwork requirements.
